On the other hand, has anyone tried the 60w amplifier design by ESP (Rod Elliott)?

I've started desiging my own amp; this seems like a nice & simple design to start working on a 2x60w. Any feedback is appreciated, tnx!

Yes, I tried, but in my opinion the THD was a more than I expected. But the soun is good.
About the schematics, I have them only on paper, but you can find them here

There are some concepts to inprove THD

Can't say much about layout, but the guy who designed the amp has premade boards available for like AU$26, which is less than US$20. I've never shipped to/from Australia, but I'd imagine the shipping would be less than $10.

60w Amplifier (LM3876 or 3886)
If you're building the 60W amp take a look at the linkwitz labs web site:-
http://www.linkwitzlab.com/xo_eq.htm
Some useful design info there, including schematic.
Mr. Linkwitz recommends construction without a pcb - i.e. using a piece of veroboard and direct soldering components together.
