Default LM7915 oscillation ?

I#ve always problems with stability of 7915 voltage regulators.
(HF oscillation)
Are there better manufactures.
The positive 78xx types always runs fine, why ?
What is the best output cap to get these things working.
Thanks

First, always load the regulator with a few mA (1.5k/0.5W resistor on output will do)!
Then do not forget to bypass the input terminal with a 100nF capacitor.
