You can't - there's no connection for any digital audio data on the iPod Dock connector.

There is a digital out on some of the newer iPods (all the Gen 6 & some of the Gen 5 IB), To get at it you have to have an authourization code from Apple. So far the only one that has antied up and has a product out the door i Wadia with the iTransport.

Well I imagine that also means that if you happen to have $350 and a logic analyzer, you could reverse engineer it. Unless Apple's got all tricksy with challenge/response or something.

But if the iPhone is any idication maybe not (on one hand they have to look like they are battling against unlocked iPhones, while on the other rooting for the hackers) dave |
Thanks for all the replys
Hi, would that be a better, if i am using my Mac G5 or a Mac mini as my music source?
i am now running a PC data in to my Meridian 563 DAC, but my DAC only 16 bit and 44khz, it would not double lock the signal. would the Mac do the same? is any one try it before? thanks |
