Default Technics OFC transformer

I am not sure if I should have posted here but...

I have a salvaged Technics SUVX 500 amplifier at home. It works fine except when you press the Power Amp Direct switch, it then goes into one channel only.

What I would like to know is if the transformer is worth keeping (and the smoothing caps) for a future project, and if so, what are the ratings of this transformer.

Thanks
Gareth

The amp problem may just be a dirty contact on the switch!

The transformer VA rating can be estimated by looking on the rear panel of the unit and seeing what it says is the VA or watts power consumption.

The caps may be usable but if they are more than 10 years old they might not have a great deal of life left in them. Having said that my 16 year old Technics amp is still perfect. It's an SU-VX600 which is the model above yours.
