hi all, i got a sony ta-1010 today from a garage sale, its in great condition however no volume occurs until about the half way point (i would expect more volume at this point too) and anymore the sound becomes a little distorted. Any ideas what could be causing this? both channels seem to be equal and all pots were cleaned and checked. Appreciate any help!! Thanks! Andy

hi there, tape monitor is definately off and it doesnt have any preamp links on the rear - volume only appears to work at the halfway point and beyond using the AUX function - i'll try tape and phono tonite to see if its occuring in those inputs also and give an update! Cheers!
