i bought a musical fidelity E 1 amp to modify it to see if i could get a performance of amps costing £1000's with BHC 22.000
i recapped the 10.000 mf capacitors also fitted a 500 va transformer alps blue volume pot and four new output transistors before i modified this amp the sound was bright hardley any bass to fill my big room. the transformer is far to small for this amp i have compered it to a roksan kandy mk3 power amp with a quality passive pre and this MUSICAL FIDELITY amp is far better before the upgrade the roskan left it for dead all coments welcome |

Hello, Congrats for the good work. Do you have any photo?
I'm sure you can go further in the mods, think diodes, non polar caps, etc. |

This is great, I'm looking to get an E1 myself to go with my T1 tuner. I shall copy your mods if that's OK. Good work. Well done. Barry

Hmmmm.........
One could argue a 500VA transformer is way over the top for such a joke of a heatsinking arrangement. New same as output transistors will do nothing ...... |
