I have an Accuphase E202 amp, it has all new electrolytic capacitors on every circuit board in the amp, along with 4 new 10000uf 80v power capacitors. The amp makes a humming sound when powered up, but when the relay clicks, it's dead quite, works 100% perfect. Is this something that needs to be taken care of?
How do I fix it? |

The output of the amp is floating till the relay kicks in...maybe the amp is oscillating until a load is connected.
The output should be scoped. The relay can even be removed so that the amp can be left to float for troubleshooting purposes. |

Is it mechanical hum? Since you say you here before the relay connects the speakers. Are the new supply caps larger than the original? Perhaps the transformer is having difficulty with the inrush current.
