I'm thinking of replacing all the ELNA gray craps on my vintage HK 330A, mainly for the fun of it, I do not expect any improvement in sound, just a time-wasting exercise. I'd replace them all with General Purpose Rubycons I have of the XYA line (General Purpose, like the Elnas, 3 cents each, can't beat it), but I see some of the values I have laying around and need are of the YXF "low impedance" type. Does it matter that I may be replacing some General Purpose type electros with low impedance types? Might it upset things? I'm not talking about caps in the power supply here, just misc. caps in the FM, AM, MPX, etc sections.

Replace all the electrolytics in the tuner section (only the ceramic ones should remain as is).

No much consensus, huh? I'm guessing there would be no real difference in using one over the other, given ESR difference of just a few ohms max. The low esr feature being not a consideration for these types of circuits.
