Does anyone know of an amplifier that can produce around 100watts into 1.3ohms.
It is for a sub-woofer I recently got of a friend, it is a SONY SS-WP1000. The Specifications are attached go to page 57 on the PDF for more specs. Thanks |

I don't think that Sony would put a product on the market that would frie allmost all commercial amplifiers ??
Can you post a picture of the back of the subwoofer case ?

If that's what stated on the back, it must be correct
Not very consumer friendly though.... As I recall it's a part of a cinema system, so maybe Sony used a Class D amp to drive it.............

A class D car-audio subwoofer amplifier would be fine. Standard linear amplifiers are not designed to drive such a low impedance in an efficient way.

Connecting the outputs of a 4 ohms stereo amp in parallel with two 0.5 ohm resistors might work, make sure you use resistors that can handle enough power.
