The right channel on this will cut in and out at times had this in the shop three times now still not fixed. Any ways sometimes it will play fine like now but sometimes it will cut in and out i turn the volume knob up and down it will work fine. when it was in the shop he resodered the pre in and out board and said it worked fine for him. Can it be the volume control or the relays? Any help would be great.

Anatech is your Carver man here. He most likely will respond when he has the chance. He might have an idea as it might be one of those common faults seen time and again and he says to "look here". Intermittent faults can be a PITA sometimes. I'm gonna assume you have done all the basics and eliminated things like your cables, speaker wires etc. It does sound like a dry/cold solder joint or connection somewhere. Before another trip to the shop maybe try running it without the cover/bottom and when it acts up tap/poke around CAREFULLY and methodically with a nonconductive instrument of some sort.

Try reversing speakers (left to right) and listen if it will happen again and on which side.
