Can anyone recomend a good preamp design with circuit board layout or ready made circuit booards to build. I was going to buy and build the Doug self preamp detailed in his book, but i have had a bad experience ordering boards for his designs already so that is out of the window.
Has Anyone built a top quality preamp with MM/MC turntable input. Cheers Steevo |

You could also look at the Borbely designs.

I have been thinking about a cost no object solidstate preamp
I would use this attenuator http://www.twistedpearaudio.com/joshuatree/jt.aspx And this power supply http://sjostromaudio.com/_unsql/hifi/jsr06/index.html But I havent found a output/buffer design AND a major problem is whether it will be any better than the new BURSON preamp ... but at least I am sure the diy pre will be expencive

About PASS preamps, which I rerckon Choky refers to ... attenuation on both "in" and "out" ... "out" dc-caps ... and high gain ... otherwise surely nice amps ... I suppose they need transistor matching
