i'm repairing an old peavey amp which has blown the pnp driver/output stage, the the four output transistors, mj15025 are easily obtainable, but the driver MJ15021 (70471180 1 amp.180 volt. PNP. TO3) seems to be obsolete,
at least in the uk. can someone please suggest an equivilent many thanks doug |

Seems odd that they used a TO-3 cased device here! The MJ15020/1 are marked obsolete by OnSemi.
I'd be inclined to try replacing the driver transistors with MJE15034/5 instead. These are TO-220 devices but their spec closely matches the old MJE15020/1 pairs. |

Call or email Peavey service. It's really excellent and there is a wealth of actual knowledge from the people there. They may well have spares, it wouldn't surprise me. They don't gouge you on price either.

ON Semiconductor suggests the MJ15025 to replace the MJ15021.
The MJ15021 looks like it was the die from a MJE15032/33 mounted in the TO-3 package. If after checking with Peavey and I found I still needed a part, I would look at the MJW1302, the lead spacing is correct too.
