Krell Peamp Clones

There are a few huge threads about Krell power ams clones,which shows interest in all time audio classics.But nobody has tried yet to made Krell preamp clones of the same vintage,like PAM-3,orPAM-5 .Krell preamp owners with enaugh skills, could draw schematics or send high resolution photos,even make their own pcb-s. It would be realy very interesting project for more experienced members of this forum.

Thread split.

I, for one, haven't seen any schematics around. Didn't the Krell preamps of that generation have a poor reputation anyway?

Reputation of mid 80-s Krell preamps was very high,according to many good reviewes in leading audio journals like TAS,Stereophile and HI-FI News. They compared well to Levinson, Audio Research etc. especially in combination with KSA-100 power amp.

Hi

I have owned two Krell preamps and also a Krell intergrated which had a pre output.

I thought the treble sounded very good. However for spacial qualities and dynamics I much prefered the borbelly and Pass pre amps.
