Flushed with the success of replacing capacitors with mainly Pan FC (and Rubycon ML where I couldn't get Panas), I wondered about the power supply caps. The originals are 6 off Jamicon 4700 uF marked '831 KO (M)'. As far as I can make out Jamicons seem to be used in car radios, so the question is - would substituting these for alternatives show a marked benefit? If so, in what areas? There are space constraints, these caps are 30 dia x 30 height. I could go to 40 height maximum to fit in the case.
I'd be really grateful for others' views before I delve deeper, all suggestions welcome! Thanks Ron

I know there aren't too many of these amps around, but as a general principle would you think I'd get much benefit from changing the smoothing caps?

If the amp is old, then it may be of benefit to change them.

It's about 7/8 years old and they were £800 new. It's 50WPC and minimalist in design, had very good reviews in their day, but the firm closed down about 4 years ago.
