Best low budget OPAmp ?

What is your experience ??

Which low budget single 8 pin DIP OPAmp (let's say a price below €5.00 or $7.00) are best ??

OPA2134 (OPA134 for single) seems good for a lot of purposes. A BJT input op-amp may exhibit lower noise but will only be suitable for some applications.

of course there is no such thing as a universal opamp, and the main groups, fets and BJTs shine under difirent conditions...

Despite graphs etc... my vote goes to opa2132 (the more expensive cousin of opa2134 but it should stll be about $6)

The ONE reason this chip stands out to me is good noise rejection on the inputs.... stuff like PC soundcards.. this has been my cheap chip rolling experience.

well the single version is opa132.... it has the benefit of offset adjustment pins too.

I second to that.......

though newer and maybe faster opamps are available these days...............

according to my ears regardless of my pocket

NE's are still best speacially in the input side........seconded by TL072's or 74's......

I just don't understand actually why there not much threads

concerning pre-amps utilising op amps and tone controls

discrete opamps I know are most on threads..

Maybe because there are much more diy in making diskrete opamps than just plug a DIP 8 in a socket

Discrete opamps are nice, however sometimes it easier just to use a DIP opamp

No I'm not using tone controls, and my thread here was just to hear what other people uses as low budget opamp

I've tried OPA2134's some BURR BROWN op's but

still I would prefer NE5532's and in my

active filter projects: 24db state variable linkwitz riley 3way crossover

network, I would always prefer the TLO's........

I do now remember the LYNX.

I've tried every single opamp I had in my drawer from

OPA134PA, OPA627, OPA604,

until I've arrived with LF356 which behaved and sounds that well .......
