Pro-Ject Phonobox SE mod
Hi,
Wanted to share my impressions... I recently modded my Phonobox SE. Changed all electrolytic caps to Black Gates and the two bigger ones in power rail to Rubycon ZA, also two metallized polyester caps to Wima mks2. Signal wire (RCA's -> pcb) to Homegrown Audio's pure silver 22AWG. Results? Amazing improvements for such a little mod... soundstage is more open, lot more transparency and detail. I dont have any higher price preamp to compare it but i guess this mod did bring the SE to another performance level (where lot more expensive phono preamps are)     Ron |
