OK-just to say hello to all;
I'm not newbie,but I'm just registered here-hehe,even if I'm lurking (peeking?) almost a year. I'm primary in tube stuff,but just acquired 2 pairs of old ancient mosfets. I made search through old posts,but I didn't find anything interesting. so-anybody have nice little one schmtc for amp with these mosfets. I'm not interested in A class (just 'cause I already have at least 90% parts for Aleph 5),just little one with 7-15W,mebbe just for my PC. cheers to all!

Hi,
have a look here : my little Aleph3 Should meet your needs. You could even scale it more down than this. Probably have a look at the mini-a.(do a search for that) This is a little tiny PC amplifier. Regards Jens |

if you have a look at this link, you will see an uprated version of an old amp design which originally used a single 135/50's pair to produce 75Watts. It was an old Maplin design which was intended as a guitar amp. I have built a pair of these many moons ago with uprated output fets and a slightly higher power supply voltage ( +- 50v ) 150Watts out at 4ohms, and tremendous bass punch its a simple circuit that works surprisingly well, and sounds good. this one has a few extra touches that the old Maplin one didn't, and you don't have to go mad (like the author of this site did) and bridge the amps for silly powers..... http://www.hilberink.nl/amps/amps9.htm HTH ray |

But nice link to another amplifier. The mini crescendo used the 2SK135+2SJ50 as well. You could take lower rail voltage and scale it a little down. I donīt have the article but it must be here somewhere. Jens |

.. or you could replace the output devices with the mighty Exicon 250W / 200 V lateral FET's .... 4 devices a rail for about 1 Kw
not cheap though...nor would the PSU be either. ray |

tnx fellas!
in any case all proposed amps are already familliar to me; what I try to find is little cute amp with no more than 15W and no more than 100mA of Iq. in any case-I'l try to downscale one of many schmtcs I already have

Howabout something in this family of circuits:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/jm.plantefeve/sche.html talked about in this thread: Mos Amplifier Design The 2SK1058 and 2SJ162 correspond to the 2SK135 and 2SJ50 Scale the rails down for lower power. Good luck! Michael [QUOTE]Originally posted by choky .... I'm primary in tube stuff,but just acquired 2 pairs of old ancient mosfets. ....QUOTE] |
