Hows the final sound of the PA300? I'm looking to build a simple powerful amp for the bass in my bi-amp system.

What's your crossover frecquency? I wouldn't recommend using a PA300 for more than a subwoofer in a high end system.

I intend to use diy Pass Alephs 2s which are slightly bass-shy for the mid and highs because my speakers (ET LFT VIIIs) are not very efficient; about 85dB. The crossover frequency is 800Hz. BTW, the alephs for mids and highs are out of this world!

The PA300 certainly is no match for an Aleph. 800Hz is actually midrange, so I would recommend using a better amplifier for your system.

When was the PA300 published? I have a pile of Elektor but if someone can tell me it goes faster to find the article. BTW my Elektor is swedish ("Allt om elektronik").

Hey guys,
I see some of you talking about bridging the PA-300. I'm thinking of either building a double PA-600 or four PA-300's to bridge them. What would you consider best? And what power will I exactly get out of a bridged pair of PA-300's? I heard about a 500 or 600 Watts, but how will two 150W-amplifiers deliver 500W together. And will they be able to drive a 4Ohm load? I would be thankfull to the one who gives me the answers. |
