Any ideas?
Several options that I can think of: - Adding Tube pre-amp - Replacing good Cap Any one has tried with this amp yet? |

Depends what version of the A1 you have.

Maybe you could try to add a cooling fan beside the A1 which is very,very hot!
A cooling fan will help extend the life time of A1. |

My understanding of the A1 is that the volume pot was badly implemented. As such I would suggest bypassing the input altogether and using it as a simple Power amp.
