Default can I run 4 ohm speakers?

So I have an old cheapo JVC AX-44 integrated amp. I'm currently tweaking it as much as I can in order to use it as my "B" system for my basement.

It has a "use 8-16 ohm speakers" warning on the back. I want to run Dayton D3's on it which are 4 ohms nominal.

Can I run these speakers from this amp? Any checks I can make on the board to see if I'll have problems? Thanks.

you can run 4 ohms speakers.
But be careful/causious, when you turn up the volume.
The danger comes when you get too much current in output stage.

Can even be a safety circuit/limiter that protect the amp from this.
This will then affect the sound, more or less
or shutdown the amp.

But if you are playing low/normal volumes, nothing bad will
probably happen.
You shouldn't challenge your "luck" by putting the amplifier
to the levels, it is stated, it is not built for.

/halo - take care & you can use it
