Having the same batch codes is pretty easy to explain - you set up a line to run a *big* batch, perhaps enough to last you for a year if it is a commodity item that will not be subject to becoming useless. The run costs decrease really fast when you do it that way - and if you want to buy something for a couple of bucks, it cannot cost more than 25cents to make.

No big problem with fakes
It seems from the posts so far in this thread,
including Nelson's,
that the problem with faked Semiconductors is very small.
I have not read one post yet here, that can tell us of one case.
Rod Elliot had some examples in his article.
Seems that this is only some very rare exceptions.
And this can make us feel secure
and stop us from worrying
and start thinking on more plesant things.
