Preamp needed?
I am using a Behringer CX2310 two way active crossover which drives two Hafler power amps. A P-230 for subwoofers and a P-125 (or another P-230) for the mains in my stereo system. I use an xbox and a Yamaha cd player as my sources. I will be using rca to xlr (and vice versa) cables for the connections which i have already tested to make sure they did not create any hum or noise in the system.
Finally, my question is, do i need a preamp to buffer the signal from the sources to go into the XO or can i just use a 10K dual gang pot with a selector switch; a passive "preamp" ? Or will there be impedance issues? Thank you for any help. |
