I believe someone has done this before but no details were given.
If a build the Leach (ver4.5 not the "super") can use the following from my Hafler dh200 1. Chassis (looks like there is plenty of room) 2. Transformer (the Leach specs a 56-59 volt) and I don't know about the other specs 3. Heat sinks (the Leach specs recommend something that looks like more surface area). I assume I can re-drill holes to fit the new transistors (if necessary). I will be prudent and not try to re-use the big caps. There had been talk of a Nelson Pass designed Class A to put in the Hafler chassis, but it looks like that project got sidelined. My ultimate use is for amplifying some very efficient corner horns. So power and high current are not critical but a very clean sound with a tight bass are the priorities. Your advice is appreciated, -Tom |

I've seen at least one Leach built as a Hafler look alike. I don't see why not

Brian GT built a Leach in a Hafler chassis.
The transformer voltage is fine, and the sink is already drilled for TO-3 outputs.

I've thought about doing this to my broken Marantz 250. Love those blue meters
