Loudspeaker measure and crossover design

I have developped a new freeware which may interest you. You will be able to measure loudspeaker with it and to design crossovers. The main features are :

Frequency response measurement
Phase response measurement
Impedance measurement
Minimal phase computing
Acoustical center computing
MLS (Maximum length sequences) signal generator
Impulse response measurement
Crossover simulation
Waterfal diagram (CSD : cumulative spectral decay) computing
Curve visualizing
Waterfall diagram visualizing

You can dowload it at http://sofmea.fr/Download.php

I will be glad to have your feedbak. I can developp some extra tools if you need some. Please feel free to ask any question.

Feedback: (don't ever say that to a roadie!)

Your link did not work for me but I got there via SOFMEA - Accueil. Thanks for providing the site in Enlish
The download worked fine (also in English) and the program came up. All in French. I will bring out my dictionary, proceed and report back

Thanks for sharing! E

If you want the freeware in english, you can edit the config.txt file, writing 'EN' on the second line and everything will be in English...

I'll give it a test. I use SoundEasy now. I also keep going back to WT-2 and TrueRta.

Looks like an .exe file. Those only run on Windows PCs. Can you make a .zip or .tar file of the source available?

I will give this ago .......... Thanks !!!!

Look carefully at the licenses used by GNU Plot and by Audicity and use whichever you like but do pick something.

Details are here.
Licenses - GNU Project - Free Software Foundation (FSF)

Audacity and Gnuplot are to be used as stand alone applications combined with Sofmea, but there is no piece of code of it inside Sofmea.

I'm not sure giving the whole source code is a good idea, but I can eventually try to compile the soft on linux if you are intersted.

Optimization feature

I put the V1.0 online today. There is a major improvement in computing speed (impulse response as an example). There is also a new optimization feature available in the simulation interface. You need a code in order to activate this feature, but you can get a free one here.

05cordie 28th May 2012 01:11 PM

Sofmea V1.1 is online with
  • A new interface organization
  • New messages concerning the file format
  • Minor bug fixes
  • The possibility to save curves in the simulation or optimization interface
  • Viewing of the mouse coordinates in the visualization interface
I'm waiting for your ideas... Feel free to ask for a free registration code to get access to the optimization feature !
