Im sure this is asked for a lot but I searched and coudnt find anything. I know the copy bitmap part in LTSpice but I dont know what program I need to convert this clipboard bitmap to a gif. Please help, and thanks in advance.

in windoz Paint is still there under Programs/Accessories
.gif .png are good for line drawings, graphs and schematics - I really hate being unable to read component values on .jpg schematic posts |

If you have a recent version of WINDOWS, use the "Snipping Tool". I think this is now automatically installed on Win7, and some versions of WinVISTA. I believe you can download versions of this program for XP and VISTA.
With "Snipping Tool" it is EXTREMELY easy to grab a screenshot of any rectangular area of your display, as well as an entire window or an arbitrary shape. You can then save the captured image in 3 or 4 different graphics formats. Dale |

I use IrfanView (free download) to grab a shot of the window in .jpg format, then crop if needed. It's under Options.

.jpg is simply wrong for line graphics: gif, png preserve much more important detail in technical drawings, graphs, plots
