ARTA SOUNDEASY JIG set up

I noticed that the ARTA jig in the acoustic mode has a resistor that is used between the amp and the driver so that both soundcard input channels are driven from generators that have same source impedance; presumably for calibrated measurement. Is there any advantage to doing this with Soundeasy?

It also has diode protectors in parallel with the voltage dividers, any advantage to doing this with Soundeasy?

Finally, it seems as thought the voltage dividers are larger with ARTA than with Soundeasy. Is this an inherent difference in the way the program is run or is it just a greater protection put into place in the recommended ARTA jig?
