Default enclosures talking

Gentlemen,

Let me introduce myself.I am a technical specialist in quality inssurance for Esterline aerospace here in Montreal and the owner of Minisemi. In the last 2 years I have been working hard to built my business, and create Minisemi and those stylish enclosures.

All panels are groove and holes for screws are withquality brass Dodge inserts install, theres no brakets and no aluminum taps witch is a BIG FAIL.

I have different inspirations in my design like Crate and barrel and the most important is your enclosure have to fit in your decor and create a harmony.Customer service and quality workmanship are my priority.I have a banner on this forum

A full aluminum unit is comming this spring.Sincelrelly yours...

why?
having worked on combustion engines where aluminum is the material of choice I know that it's not to die for but it's not a nightmare either. there's no real torque involved with this kind of application, I don't see how it can be a problem.

Because Aluminum is a soft material, you will destroy you tap after 10,15 or 20 time of screwing and unscrewing your screws.in aerospace we always use solid dodge brass insert,It last!

Please be advised that this is a group buy thread for a specific enclosure, not a place to promote your enclosures.

You are welcome to provide technical insight that will help us improve this enclosure. Frankly I don't think there is nothing wrong with it, but we are all open to suggestions.
Mind you we are referring to the optional horizontal panel that the user may or may not install at the height she/he sees feet, not the top and bottom panels.

+1

so how come there are literally hundreds of 13 grade steel bolts directly (i.e. without inserts) threaded onto an engine's body?
the revision intervals for many engines imply lots of tightening/untightening cycles for those screws. in my experience it's never a real issue unless you're really clumsy.
nevertheless the inserts tip is not a bad idea. are they an easy fit?

Hi Luc,

It was a while ago I looked at your new enclosures. You got a good selection and I love the wooden sides! Nice work!

Minisemi, any source for a low profile brass insert? I've looked on eBay but most are close to 8 mm.
