Hi all
I do know you'll hate me:)
you'll flame me:dodgy:
But a question that drives me mad:smash:
in car audio there are amps doing sound correction for mp3
eg for the high end, I do guess.
Not sounding bad but no purist hifi.
I like to know, can it be done in a DIY design
There are so many mp3 around for disks gone forever,
or never to get on hold.
All I do find for an iPod or Creative are gadgets:smash:
A preamp with some sound correctiion mp3 wise
would be nice to have:) |

Hi,
I don't hate MP3 as much as I probably should. I do prefer the lower bitrate through simple valve preamps or even just a valve buffer. I use very low voltage designs that anyone could build easily. In fact, its crazy not to try it!
I'm building a passive preamp at the moment and it will have a ~24volt (or more) valve buffer that can be switched in or out of the circuit. Sometimes it can be nice to trade a little detail for a little warmth and MP3 is the perfect candidate.
