Learning about Amps - Click HERE for Original Thread

I built a small amplifier from a kit but don't understand a thing about how it works. Would anyone mind explaining it somewhat, so I can eventually design my own amp?

To explain how it works in a way that you will understand it would take a very Long Time, it would be easier and quicker for you to take an electronics cource or to spend the Next 6 to 12 months Reading a LOT about electronics......

There are so many Things you have to Know before you can even start understanding how the curcuit works that even if someone were to explain the curcuit in Detail to you , you probably wouldn"t understand anything of what they had said.....

A start would be to read the datasheet for the TDA2005 IC which is were the Curcuit comes from, but if you can"t comprehend the Info in the Datasheet you will definately not understand the Inner workings of the Curcuit.....

Poeple spend Many Years Learning electronics before they can even Tackle designing the simplest of curcuits.......

I personally Only understand the very Basics and I have been doing DIY Constantly for the Past year....I have designed quite a few curcuits but most of them either Fail or do not work out the way I want them to but I have gotten lucky on a few occations and was able to design some Fairly good performing audio curcuits but they were Probably a Fluke......

Good luck

Its an enormous amount to learn but its grouped nicely through the yellow links at the top of the page
Good luck

Hi, go to the ESP site at
http://sound.westhost.com/articles.htm

read all of the ones you think useful.
then read the projects.
then come back with questions (if there are any).

I just started to learn about amplification too. What I found very helpfull as a start are Nelson Pass' Zen articles, explaining very simple circuits with simple words, well writen and entertaining.

The very first is here , the other can be found at www.passdiy.com

have fun

Im in a similiar situation. Though I have built simple tube amps and line stages I have never done any solid state construction or design. These links are great! Any others related to construction techniqes? How about books? thanks in advance.
