I drew up a circuit using a center tapped audio transformer as shown below. Instead of a loudspeaker, I used an 8 ohm resistor. Not really accurate, but I'm just using it for a start.
I was told that audo transformers have inductances of 1 to 5. Yet when I use this centertapped one, I get a response that droops so bad in the high range I am 18 dB down @ 2K Hz.
My understanding is that it is the bass which transformers have trouble with, but here it appears to be the high frequencies which suffer.

Now here is the response. And the higher the inductance of the transformers, the more the tweeter range droops, not the low frequencies which seem undisturbed.
Anybody have any idea what inductance Xformer I should be looking for, for this 1:2 ratio?
And why does the high frequency response roll off-I'm sure it does not do that with high quality audio transformers.
