Dayton speaker cabinet opinions - Click HERE for Original Thread

While I try to improve my cabinet building skills, I'm thinking about picking up a pair of Dayton pre-finished speaker cabinets from Parts Express. One of the best features about this cabinet is that they sell additional baffles so it seems ideal for experimentation purposes. I'm considering the .25 cu ft version, here's a link:

My current driver of choice is the TB W3-871s but I'm interested in trying out the Fostex Fe127e and the upcoming 4.5" full ranger from Hemp Acoustics (if they ever get it up on their website).

I know that .25 cu ft is on the large size for the W3-871s, but is it possible to use this cabinet successfully with this driver? How about the Fostex Fe127e?

That's a wee bit small for the FE127, the next size up (.38 cuft) would be a better size, otherwise bass output will suffer. This is vented.

Hi, If the quality of their cabinets are all like mine, then great. I have the MTMs in cherry. Finish is like a piano and they are solid. There is no way I could buid one as good.

good listening
