Hello,
I have an diy aleph 5 and a source with a dc voltage, so the aleph amplified the dc voltage to around 5 Volt. Without input my aleph has only 4 mV DC.
So I think the best thing to do is to install a capacitor at the input.
Normaly it has to be something like 10 uF, but in my case I have a subwoofer and the aleph is only for the low mids and hights.
My "sattelits" are 17 cm thiel ceramic midwoofers with ribbons and my idea is to protect the thiels from big excursions by let the aleph roll of at ca. 40 Hz.
If the aleph have an input resistance of about 10000 Ohms this means I have to install an input C of something around 0,4 uF.
Is my calculation correct or do I miss something ?

Fc= 1/(2 x Pi x Rin x C)
so
C=1/(2 x 3.14 x 10K x 40) = 0,4uF
start with 200n,even 100n and look at cones and listen to amount of needed bass |
