Replacement for 2SK389BL? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I will make The Pearl Phono. Usually I draw the PCB and etch it by myself. The 2SK389BL can sometimes be hard to get, so now I have the opportunity to insert a replacement for this.

Is there any replacement for this?
How will it be to use two 2SK170BL (or maybe others) in parallel and a 20 ohm resistor in series with each of them, similar to the first gain stage?

2SK370's are coming from Toshiba, and they look to be an
excellent replacement.

Also Linear Systems has replacements.

The 2SK389 and 2SK170 are both available from LinearSystems in Fremont California:

LSK389:

Both are available in the three traditional current versions: A, B, and C.

Isn't that a single? I see 2SK2145 and 2SK3320 duals in the Toshiba lineup but their noise figures are 10x higher.

Just ordered 20 LS389B form Linear Systems distributor. They are $7.20 each. Quite pricy :)

What bias current are you using on the LS389B?

The "B" grade is spec'ed at I_DDS 6-12ma at Vds=10V.

Just want to get a rule of thumb..... Thanks

Isn't 6-12 mA I_DDS the same for 2SK389BL ?
