i need to filter out the bass from my 6x9's is that possible? is that what a low filter is for? i hooked up some 10's and the 6x9's sound like ****. well they're not horrible but it'd be alot nicer sounding if if just used them for high's.. they're not amped just the 10's are. any help would be appreciated thanks

If your head unit or amp has a high-pass filter on, that's what you want.

You can always put a capacitor in series with the speaker.

Yes. That is the worst way to do it, but often overlooked is the fact that even this way tends to sound better than too much bass getting to the small speaker.
