Just query what application must use 2N5465 which is a obsolete part. Actually 2N5462 and 2N5465 are same series part sorted for different working voltages in the past and I guess due to low yeild at 60V, it was later not available.

It's a constant current source for the input stage of a power amplifier. 60 volt P-channel JFET is a must if I want to follow the design strictly.

There are many methods to achieve the voltage and current for a current source. One example is to use Jfet in series with a zener diode of 20V and then then jfet will not be loaded for too high a voltage but you still get the current regulation.

Yes, I know that. But I just want to follow the original design strictly unless the JFET is impossible to find. :D

I just look at the data sheets of P-channel FETs, 2SJ164 with Idss over 4 mA may be a suitable replacement. Do you have it?
