A-hammm ... is that Aussie dollars? ...
rkreim
Yes the cable is in Australian dollars , as for diy electrical in Australia the following Warning applies It is illegal for persons other than licensed electrical mechanics, or persons authorised by legislation, to work on fixed wiring of any electrical installation. .
Australian electrical standards are different to American standards .
All electrical components imported or made and sold in Australia must comply .

Well, that lets a whole lot of DIY types out in the cold ... unless there are some voltage limits as there are here: anything over 70.7 VAC or 32 VDC requires, likewise, a Union trained electrician and must be run in pipe (except new housing, which can still use Romex). (32 VDC can leave a nasty burn and above 70.7 VAC can stop a pacemaker.) :hot:

Then the prices can be high then if your not allowed to make your own...

Yes, unless you take the old fashioned American know how route ... and throw away the building codes book and grab your side cutters. "Black goes to Brass" ... zzzzzt ;)

louthewiz above is right: " ... to think I am going to pay that much for a power cord I can make myself ..."
