Ideal lenses always project straight lines into straight lines, and therefore planes into planes.
This means whenever 3 noncolinear points of an LCD are focused onto a wall, the whole LCD is focused, regardless of the angle between them. Unless they are parallel the image is distorted though, and keystone correction must be applied.

Thus there is no restriction to where a projector can be placed in a room in relation to a projection wall, other than those given by the appliable keystone corrections, acceptable brightness nonuniformity or practical projection lens adjustments and departures from ideal lenses. |
