What happened? Got the database error for about 24 Hours.

Server trouble? Glad to have the site back up. :D

That was painfull, next time it goes down , why don't you take my smokes with you, to make it more excruciating....

In the mean time, I'm makeing good progress on the Pedja Rogic J-fet buffer, the first channel is playing allready, second at 95%.

Finaly something that works... big relief, was going to give up on solidstate...

I actually (gasp!) started posting on the Madisound forum. Which is not much of a forum at all.
peranders
The forum has been down a couple times before so this is nothing new. Meanwhile you may go out for walk

:D I spent the time building speakers. The forum lapse forced me to be productive.

I don't know much about these things, but apparently the PHP needed sorting, whatever that means. We will be putting a system in place to prevent something like that happening again.

Geez Maui Man,

I knew we shared similar thoughts. I'm getting ready to load my newest cabinets. The time off was well spent in the garage assembling the boxes.

Wahoo, another dual 15" coming down the pipe, will posts pics.

Well I was productive...It was more :smash: though...

I 'learned' how to do dovetails. I simply cannot imagine doing these by hand...Granted the Jig is nice and all...ONCE YOU HAVE IT SET UP. Now I know why my Dad was laughing at me when he asked if I was going to buy a new router just for doing dovetails....+/- 1/64" bit depth makes you, or breaks you.

Regardless:

If only the forum would go down for a week, we might get something done! ;) Post pics of your new ones, please. Mine will be no where near the monsters you have, but Maui is much smaller than Canada, so I guess it's OK.

Steven

Very nice. You done learned it good!
What is that cool wood? Love the grain. Looks like the grain you see on some poplar, only better.
Nordic
Our shop teacher insisted on seeing the sawmarks... no cheating, no sanding.... shame, poor man had a massive stroke and is like a ghost now, not even 50... Nice Dovetails, I should do a few again soon, to not loose the touch.

Steven,
Interesting how small tolerances are when we put things together. I'll wager that is curly cherry. I wish I had a truck load!
JPPP
hmm.. this is interesting... I finally started building a tube poweramp, while the forum was closed. Maybe this endless stream of new and "better" ideas is not always a good thing... Maybe I'll try to stay offline for a week and see what happens :)
Steven-H
Ed et. al.,
You Sir are correct. Its curly cherry :D . I finished making the transformer covers before lunch; so now I am testing a couple of different finishes to see which one 'pops' the best. Right now, the winner seems to be Arm-R-Seal Topcoat Oil & Poly...I was going to do Shellac; but then the heat from the transformers and rectifier tube worried me a bit.
Hopefully in about a week I can have some finished enclosure photos for you all....Unfortunately I don't think I will be done with the wiring and whatnot for some time; as work is starting to pick back up.
Oh, and by the way; please call me Steve. SteveH, Steve H, Steve-H, and Steve_H were all taken :clown:

Regards,
Steve

Hi guys. Seems like a few of us got things done during the outage. I also went browsing between driver testing. Look what I found. Very low WAF, so they must be good. We could take bets to see who can get closest to the winning bid. Oh, and I won a lonely 409-8D. It needs a home. $5.50. 1/2 6 pack.

Geoff.

All my posts (all posts going back years) are now under "Guest" name - I also lost my username Jkeny - a search for posts under jkeny turns up nada - only what I have posted since I had to re-register - Now I'm on probation.

Is there anything that can be done???????????????????????

Kind of spooky, yeah? Where's Franz Kafka when you need him?

Have you contacted the mods about this? You should.
SY
I've mailed him with a (I hope) helpful suggestion.
