Tuner Hum - Click HERE for Original Thread

Wonder if any body can explain the odd hum I get with a modified Dynaco FM-3. It always happens when the cage is screwed on in it's proper position. If I undo all the screws and move the cage about a bit it will stop when in certain place's. If the cage is taken off all together again no hum. Just seems very fussy with position of cage? I have tried earthing the cage with no success.

Any thoughts about how to sort out problem as I would prefer the cage screwed on. I have young kids with curious fingers.

Thanks

Hi captaink
Might be the screws when screwed in are touching any part of the circuit?

No they only touch the sides of the case.
