How many amperes for a parallelled lm4780 - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi! I just bought a big toroid with multiple secondaries, two of them are labeled 24 VAC and 4,9 amperes. Now I´m wondering if that is sufficent to drive two lm4780 chips, both in parallelled configuration?
Thanks!

Ok, sorry for posting so fast... I've been doing some research and found that for a 8 ohm load it would be ok but for a 4 ohm load it might be difficult, is that right?

Hi,
some quick numbers.
VA=(24+24)*4.9=235VA
maximum output power~=VA/1.5=235/1.5=156W.

This transformer will support 150W or 75W+75W or 50W+50W+50W of good quality power if the PSU is scaled accordingly.
