Let's invade ODDcon in Madison, WI! - Click HERE for Original Thread

For lack of a better option for a small DIY audio convention, I would reccomend that we all just "invade" (attend) ODDcon in Madison, Wisconsin.

http://www.oddcon.com/index.php

If you get a 1-day pass in advance, it's only $20. This includes FREE FOOD AND SODA (as opposed to the $4 you'll pay for a hot dog at most conventions), access to LAN gaming and the assorted panelists, and all the bizzare Japanese cartoons you can watch.

This is a perfect location, too - right next to Madisound, and within sane driving distance of John Krutke (zaphaudio.com). In addition, Tom Zurowski (creator of the PAWO horn - http://audio-resolution.com/) lives nearby.

If enough people ask (at least ten), I would not be surprised if they allocated us a conference room for at least an hour or two on one of the days. However, if we rent a suite (not as expensive as it sounds - I'm likely to be sharing a room with a few other people, and so long as it's not needed between 10 P.M. and 10 A.M, we won't be in it anyway!) we can just use that instead. To upgrade to a suite should cost no more than $70 or so - divide that by the number of DIYers that show up, and the overall cost should be no more than a Starbucks espresso.

As a side note, dealers' tables are only $30 each! They're very lenient about what is sold so long as it's G-rated - one booth had nothing but jewelry - and a lot of people there pay large amounts of money for assorted things.

So...anyone else going to show up?
