I would like to seek a kind of AGC circuit to limit output singnal so that distortion is low when input singnal is excess.
The output amplifier should be keeped max 200w.
Input sensitivity : input singnal 500mv ,output 200w!
Who can supply me AGC-LIMITER schematic? |

If there are other way to meet the function!
I think that the assembly process is difficulty.
Thanks! |

I have tried to do the AGC-limit with IC-LM13700!
But the distortion will increase to 2%.
The Driver will feel be worse!
Who can help to make the AGC perform well with LM13700 or Mosfet. |

The distortion will increase, because the the limiter is changing, (distorting), the input signal in a non linear fashion. It's what it does, any compression or limiting will do the same. |

How about posting the schematic of the circuit, which you have tried....
In general I would propose an unsymmetric time behaviour for the acting characteristic.
If the input signal is to large then the gain must be reduced fast and limit the output voltage to a certain level.
Moving back towards higher gain must be slow. Slow compared to the normal bass pulse sequence of your music programm.
So the limiter will pull down the gain during the first waves of the drum and then 'remember' the right gain for the next beats...
But you will always have some influence of the 'changing/pumping gain' on the output signal. |

Add on:
'If the input signal is to large...' is misleading.
The relevant control criteria for the regulation loop is the output.
Just from outside it will look like high gain for low input signals and dropping gain above a a certain input level. |

Why do you want this limiter in place?
I can't help think there is a reasion why you are wanting one that may be solved another way. |
