anyone have any idea on how to go about reverse engineering a built-in iMac 17" LCD to work as a PC monitor? Or know if it is possible with software somehow?

What kind of iMac? It might be possible, but what's wrong with it?

iMac 17" G4 800MHz ... nothing wrong with it just wanted to use the screen on it as a monitor for another machine

use the mac man. they're far superior to PCs.

bah.. i use both platforms, have used Apples for the longest and I love all machines regardless of race or color.. anyway that is irrelevant.. all I want to do is somehow refit the LCD to accept external input, has anyone out there ever tried anything like this/ has any advice please do tell! :)

yeah... windows 2k isnt too bad, i had good luck with that, but like they say, "once you go mac you never go back." and i'm not haha. as for the display thing... prob have to mess around with ribbons and ***** just like the diy projectors. why not get a studio display? they're pretty sweet. expensive though :/
