| What is the best way to feed the Zen ZV9?? Has anyone a schematic or a PCB to suggest?? Please help me!! |

Albertone,
look at the manual of similar Class A amplifiers, example Zen Amp
http://www.passdiy.com/pdf/zenamp.pdf
1 AC connector, a fuse, a transfo {3* times power used!}
choice of 1 or 2 secondaries {1 for each channel is better...}
100 watts for each channel, so: 250 to 300VA for each channel
that's a 300VA, for a monobloc or only 1 * 625VA for a stereo 2 channel
To get 50 volts DC : secondary(s) must provide: 36 volts AC on load to the bridge
And for each channel:
a bridge rectifier 25A/100volts
several capacitors, example 2*10 000microF
Perhaps a fuse for each channel DC, would be safe to protect the bridge(s) and transfo...

Can someone tell me if this transformer will work for this project?
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/show...tnumber=122-650
Also I am new at this and a bit confused on how to pick a transformer based on a schematic, If someone could lead me to some guidelines that would be sweet.

Alain summed it up quite nicely.
Yes that transformer will work with the secondaries wired in parallel. You will end up with a rail voltage somewhere between 46 and 49VDC. One of those per channel is also my advice.

Kris,
Good choice, this will give you about 49 to 50 volts DC at 2 Amps for each secondary.
You will need 1 for each channel monobloc,
and you put the secondaries in // {parallel}.

Yes. You could also use the AN 3218 with the secondaries wired in series.

| Is there somewhere I can read about the secondaries of these transformers? I am confused about the differnet configurations and why some would be wires in series and the other in parallel |

Here is a nice place to start. Just go down the page untill you see the Transformer articles. All the other stuff is also worth reading.
