Need Marantz 2230 Bias Procedure - Click HERE for Original Thread
mvarney
Hi everyone,

I recently acquired a Marantz 2230 receiver that seems to be working OK, but I'd like to check the biasing to be certain. I don't think it's been adjusted in the past 20 years, based on what the original owner said, so I'm certain the bias current and DC offset (internal) have drifted.

Anyone here have the procedure for checking and setting bias current and DC offset (I think both of these are settable in this amp--there are two pots per power amp)? I already have the schematics, but that doesn't do me much good in itself.

Thanks,
Matt

post the schematic. . .then we can see about adjusting the amp. . .
a service manual will tell you the bias current (via voltage across two
points--usually the output resistor).
