| It's never been enabled to my knowledge. Mostly a concern about excessive server load and costly bandwidth I would presume. I'll have a talk to Jason about it and see what transpires. |

I don't see much benefit in private messaging. E-mail is usually available, and private messaging might move conversations off the board that would potentially be helpful to others. I like the idea of keeping most conversation in the public medium and using e-mail for private matters.

| If we implement any thing like this at all, it is highly likely that we would implement a real-time private chat system. I'll let you all know more in a few weeks time once I've had time to discuss the pro's and con's with Jason. |

I believe that private messaging would be a great benefit.:)
There are many times when I (and probably others) get into a tete-a-tete which pollutes the thread. Messaging would avoid that.;)
This is not in lieu of standard messaging, just a "feature". |
