In the next few months I will need to buy another pair of 6” full range drivers. I love the Fostex 168S (old style) and am considering the 167e for a Straight Pipe. Can anyone provide a subjective opinion on the sound of the 167e compared to either the old style 168S or the new style 168es… I’d rather not spend the $$$ on the more expensive drivers. I saw a picture of a 167e with a wooden phase plug that looked interesting. Does anyone know if Fostex is coming out with something new soon that might be worth the wait?
Also, can anyone offer recommendations on other 6” drivers that will work well in the Straight Pipe?
