I have been able to cross my extinct NEC part number over to an NTE234. I hear terrible things about nte, so I really would not like to use them.
I am having trouble crossing parts on digikey and mouser with this number.
Does anyone know of a good online cross reference source? seems as if everytime I go to fix something i spend as much time on forums looking as I do soldering in parts!!

It might be more helpful to have the original part number. I have a Japanese Semiconductor cross-reference I bought years ago from MCM. Was a big help back when I was in the repair business....
