Hwlp with Mt transistor - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hello, I am just a novice trying to reapir a car stereo amplifier. I am having a terrible time crossing a part. The part is a Motorola transistor marking on the part is:

mtp50n05ew

Any help locating this part will be greatly appreciated. Even if somebody knows the characteristics of the part it will be helpful.

Following the naming of the part, it sounds like a N-channel Mosfet, 50Amp,50v.
It looks like this devices is no longer manufactured.

For comparison: (20A,150v)

Without datasheet it gets nearly impossible to find a substitute.
Is it a TO220 with 3 legs ?
