One of my friend's Sony stereo goes into output protection mode as DC offset is high.
He suspects N4112 is bad. He is not sure. Does anyone know what is this 3 lead device. More info, the better

Thanks in advance

Original was made by PPC, former Kerton.

Hi,

I doubt it could be a 2N4112: japanese makers very rarely use US or european components when they have a domestic alternative, which is certainly the case for the 2N4112.
What kind of case is it, plastic, metal? Is there a manufacturer logo or any other indication? Could also be a 12V voltage regulator.

12 volt Zener diodes do not seem to have 3 leads.

It is not a 2N4112. It's japanese in small plastic.
